MIRACLE LEAGUE ON ICE: This adaptive skating/hockey program is open to any individual with special "abilities," ages 5 years and up.
Unfortunately, this program cannot accommodate wheelchairs at this time, but we are working on that for the future.
* A MINIMUM OF 20 PARTICIPANTS IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROGRAM TO MOVE FORWARD. If minimum participants is not met by end of registration period, your full registration fee paid will be refunded to you.

WHEN: Thursday's 6:50 pm - 7:40 pm in January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20.

LOCATION: LAKELAND ARENA - 7330 Highland Rd., Waterford Twp, MI 48327

REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES: 6 weeks of ice skating with 50-minutes of ice time each week, instructors, weekly skate rental, jersey, medal and certificate.
*** Families are responsible for providing a "fully caged, certified helmet" for their skater(s) which are required to participate ***
ARENA will provide: ice time, instructors, weekly skate rental, ice skating walkers, nets, cones, foam pucks.

Here is an overview of the program:
ON ICE: * Skaters will be on ice from 6:50-7:40 pm * Skates will be divided into appropriate groups for station.
STATIONS ORGANIZATION: * We will divide the ice rink into 2 halves * There will be 4 stations on each 1/2 * 1/2 of the ice will be for those moving right away *1/2 of the ice will be for those starting off more stationary
MOVERS STATIONS: * Skating Skills/ Speed Station: skaters will learn elements such as gliding, swizzles, stride. * Stick Handling Station: skaters will move through cones with a stick and foam puck. * Shooting Station: skaters will work on shooting the puck into the net. * Passing Station: skaters will learn how to pass the puck back and forth.
STATIONARY STATIONS: * Marching Station: skaters will use the ice walker to assist while working on making noises with their blades by stomping their feet. * Bean Bag Toss Station: skaters will throw bean bags into buckets. This can be done while holding on to the ice walker. * Bubbles Station: skaters will try to march through bubbles before the bubbles hit the ice. * Go Fish Station: skaters will hold onto a rope attached to hula hoops. Inside the hula hoop will be a rubber duckie. The skaters are to put the rope with the rubber duckies to themselves. The rope can be attached to the ice walker or around the waist if holding onto the rope isn't an option.
