Welcome to the official Easterseals MORC Miracle League website. NOW more than just baseball! Our two field locations are home to some of the most exciting baseball in the state. The City of Southfield is home to Michigan’s FIRST baseball field for children with any physical or cognitive disability, offering the true Major League experience. Our newer field in Orion Township opened in 2019 to provide even more opportunities for these incredible athletes.
Our Miracle League programs serve individuals (4+) with various physical and intellectual disabilities (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, hearing-visual impairment, etc.,), who with accommodations can successfully participate with their families in adaptive social-recreation programs.
We were the first ML Baseball Program in the State of Michigan (for over 21 yrs.) and have evolved now to offer bowling, hockey/skating skills, adaptive fitness, and social parties & family events with more to come. All these events provide inclusive social-recreational opportunities that lights up each participants eyes and brings smiles (along with tears of joy at times) to their cheering families and friends. For the volunteers and community members present at each event, it affords them the opportunity to enrich their understanding of the abilities of individuals with special needs. We offer many unique “Miracle” volunteer opportunities (12 yrs and older) like none ever experienced where each person grows in compassion and understanding of individuals with disabilities. Volunteer opportunities include: serving as a “buddy” on the baseball field, concession, coaching, fitness activities assistance and others as may emerge. Miracle volunteers can be individuals, groups and organizations. We annually utilize over 800 volunteers and can use many more.
Each program offers the inspiring Miracle League special experience via an energized, esteem building event day production with high quality announcing, player recognition, and an inclusive atmosphere. The Miracle League experience builds one united Miracle League family at a fun, safe, stigma free place for all.
