IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Not only is the 14th of February Valentine’s Day but it’s also the FINAL DAY to receive a free gift for Miracle League of Michigan Summer Baseball Registration.
It’s quite a task ordering 400 uniforms, getting sponsors and rostering teams.  Please do us a HUGE FAVOR and register today if you plan on playing ball this year.  By doing so and completing registration in a timely manner, everyone can get their schedule and uniform earlier than a few days prior to Opening Day.

If you know of anyone else that might like to play in our league, please forward them this email and ask them to register ASAP.  Thank you in advance for registering soon and making our job a bit easier. (If you already registered, thank you!)

COMPETITIVE LEAGUE:
We are still looking for a few new players so we can get to four teams and not have a bye week every other week.  Please tell your friends to get in the game!

BUDDIES NEEDED:
Please pass the word on to friends, students, organizations and companies that we need buddies for our 2012 summer season.  Volunteer registration will begin next week on our website.

FACEBOOK:
If you haven’t already done so, please “friend” us on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Miracle-League-of-Michigan/61194456799.  We post updates on our Facebook page on a regular basis and it’s the best way to stay current on MLM updates.

WWW.MichiganMiracle.org WEBSITE:
League updates and podcasts will be posted on the “What’s New” tab of our website.  You will find all teem info and schedules on this site.

TEAM SPONSORS AND BANNERS:
If you know a company that would be interested in sponsoring a team and having their logo on the backs of player jerseys, please have them email StevePeck@comcast.net and I will send them a flyer describing sponsor options.  Team sponsorship is $500.00 per team per season.  Our large our field banners are $1,000.  Both provide a great presence and help fund our league.

We’re excited to see all of you for our 9th season of MLM baseball!

Sincerely,
Steve Peck

Summer will be here before you know it, and registration for The Miracle League of Michigan 2012 summer baseball season has begun.

For the past eight years, we have sold out and had players on a waiting list… Please don’t let this happen to your All-Star! Register soon!

The Miracle League of Michigan offers three leagues: Youth NON-Competitive, Youth COMPETITIVE, and Adult leagues.  Below are descriptions for our YOUTH leagues.

Miracle League games are for children four years old and up with any physical or mental disability.  This league is built around fun and building self esteem.  Players in the NON-Competitive league are partnered with able-bodied players called “buddies,” who assist and protect them during games. (They also make friends with their player.) Family members are welcome to act as their child’s buddy, if they prefer.

So even if your child has never played baseball, is not capable of holding a bat, running, or fielding a ball, this is the perfect place to play and have fun, and that’s why it’s called The Miracle League.

Non-Competitive League Details:

Our season begins Sunday, June 3rd and runs through August 19th.  Each team is scheduled to play 10 games during the season.  Teams will play one game per week with no practice dates.  Game days will rotate and could fall on a  Thursday or Friday night or on a Saturday or Sunday.  Night games begin at 7:00pm, Saturday games are at 11:00am and 12:30pm, and Sunday games are at 12:00pm and 1:30pm.

Players must provide and wear tennis shoes WHITE baseball pants.  Registration fee includes:  MLB Jersey & Hat, Trophy, Player Insurance, and four Detroit Tigers tickets per family.

Once all players have registered and been placed on teams, you will be notified by your coach regarding season and schedule information, including a date for uniform pick-up.  If you have successfully registered online, you will receive an email confirmation from our registration site, Active.com.  If you have any technical registration problems, please direct your inquiries to www.Active.com. (Please note that you may not be contacted by your coach until the last week in April).

The GREEN  button below is to register NON COMPETITIVE league players only.

Competitive League Details

Our season begins Sunday, June 3rd and runs through August 19th.  Each team is scheduled to play 10 games during the season.  Teams will play one game per week, with SOME practice dates.

This COMPETITIVE League is for players who have the ability to make plays and hit the ball WITHOUT assistance. Although this league is coach-pitch, balls are pitched from the mound at a higher speed, and hitters use metal bats. If a player has not played in this league before, he or she must try out for the league. If you have questions regarding this Competitive league, write to: Steve@MichiganMiracle.org.

Baseball rules will be in effect, such as:  three outs changes sides, batters can strike out, and score is kept. We will attempt to teach basic baseball fundamentals. Optional practice will also be available. “Buddies” are NOT used in this league.  In the past, games have been played on Saturdays, but there is a possibility that some of these games may be moved to a weeknight.

Players from the Detroit Tigers are scheduled to have an on-field training camp again this year for our competitive league.  (Non-competitive leagues are welcome to come, watch, and meet the Tigers players but will not participate in the camp).

The BLUE button below is to register COMPETITIVE league players only.

Please direct any registration questions to: Rachel@MichiganMiracle.org.
